About the Foundation
The Farrell Boy Foundation, Inc. was founded to honor the lives of James Patrick Farrell, Jr. and Michael O’Brien Farrell. James and Michael were brothers who were involved in a tragic car accident in July 2021.

The outpouring of love for these two young men was felt across the country but especially in their hometown of Manhasset, New York. James and Michael were graduates of Manhasset High School where they achieved academic success and actively participated as athletes. James and Michael played Football, Basketball, Wrestling, and Lacrosse and were proud to represent Manhasset on Long Island as well as the tri-state.

After Manhasset High School, James was recruited to the University of Pennsylvania to play Ivy League Division I Men’s Lacrosse. James excelled as a student-athlete for the University of Pennsylvania Men’s Lacrosse team and lead the team as Captain his senior year. Postgrad, James found further success as an Analyst at Mack Real Estate, a Real Estate Investment firm.

Michael was a student at Villanova University’s School of Business and played for the Villanova’s Club Lacrosse team while a student and was named Captain. Michael thrived academically, making Dean’s List all four semesters, and was actively involved in Finance Club, and Delta Tau Delta fraternity as Philanthropy Chair.

Most recently, the Farrell brothers, James’s, Stephen’s, and Michael’s athletic spirit continued and their new love and the new challenge of playing golf became a new sport to master. The Farrell brothers encouraged and planned weekly golf competitions among friends with informal weekly round-robin play. Fun was had by all, something so simple, yet these memories have made a lifetime of memories for friends to remember them by.

James’s and Michael’s most important traits were their unconditional love of family and friendship, the spirit of competition, and their pursuit of education. Always eager to try new challenges, they never gave up on learning or mastering a new skill.
Jim and Elene, their parents, along with Stephen, their brother want to continue their legacy with a scholarship program in their honor, and the Farrell Boy Foundation, Inc. was created. The Farrell Boy Foundation, Inc.’s mission is to provide funds for charitable and educational purposes, making scholarship grants and providing funds for educational endeavors.
