What information do we collect through our website?
Donation Form
In order to make a donation, we ask users to submit a range of personal data through our online application. Such personally identifiable information includes the first and last names of donors, physical addresses, and email addresses.
Personal data submitted through our applications is used to fund the activities of our foundation only.
Collected data is housed and stored on secure servers which host our website.
Website Contact Form and Email
The Farrell Boy Foundation collects a website user’s name and email address when they choose to connect with us through our contact form or via email. Form or email messages will be read by one of our volunteers and may be forwarded to another individual in our organization to be addressed. Our website uses an industry-standard security protocol called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt the transmission of information between the website user’s browser and our servers.
ENews Sign-Up
When a website visitor uses our website to sign-up for email news, their information is not stored on our website but is instead forwarded to MailChimp which we use for our email marketing services. The email address is stored at MailChimp and will remain there while we use their services or until an email subscriber specifically requests removal from our list. A subscriber can choose to “unsubscribe” at any time by following the link at the bottom of every email you receive from us.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on a user’s computer, and that the user’s browser provides to the website each time the user returns. Cookies provide user information to the website owner as well as website customization to the user based on their previous activity with the website.
Our website uses Google Analytics, a free third-party service that transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. When a visitor uses our website, a first-party Google Analytics tracking code collects user data using a browser cookie that is placed on the user’s computer. Google Analytics tracks website and web page usage and does not identify individual user information or associate user’s IP address with any other data held by Google.
The Farrell Boy Foundation uses Google Analytics data to monitor our website performance and enhance the user experience of our website. If you wish not to have cookies placed on your computer, you will need to set up your browser to refuse cookies. Please use this browser blocking guide to restrict or remove cookies from being stored on your device.
Donation Payments
We connect to a secure third-party service (Stripe) to process payments off-site. We do not store any payment information on our server.
How do you store your data?
We use a number of security measures and protocols to protect your data. No website or electronic data is 100% secure, however, but we always are working to keep our website secure and updated with the latest security features.
- Website
Our website is built on a free content management software called WordPress. We use a select group of well-supported and premium third-party plugins to enhance our user’s website experience, add functionality, provide and collect information, and secure our WordPress files. Our website software is regularly updated by a web professional. Our website is hosted by GoDaddy, is SSL-protected encrypted, and contains advanced security measures. Our staff and volunteers use password authentication safeguards and their IP addresses are whitelisted to access our domain. - Database
Registration data is stored in a database on our server. We follow web security recommendations to limit our database vulnerability. - Third-Parties
Some of the information we collect is processed by third parties and/or stored at a third-party location. We use the following third parties to help us with our data collection:
GoDaddy – Web hosting, security, and email (privacy policy)
Google – Website analytics (privacy policy)
Gravity Forms – Application and contact form data collection
Mailchimp – Email marketing service (security policy)
Stripe – Payment processing (security policy)
